Our client company is seeking an experienced mechanic capable of performing hands-on repairs to all ship board marine machinery or mechanical equipment.


Must be available to work day or night as required

Pre-employment physical/background check/drug test required


You must be willing to:

  • Assign/oversees work by Mechanics/Welders/Electronic Technicians/Marine Electricians/Mechanic Assistants
  • Act as lead in Senior Manager’s absence
  • Keep records of repairs/overhaul data
  • Review proposals for purchase of equipment/services
  • Train less senior mechanics on technical skills/procedures


  • High School or GED (Associates preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience of machinery repair in the marine industry
  • Thorough working knowledge of engine repair/welding/hydraulic and pneumatic systems/machine                        work/electrical systems
  • Knowledge of U.S.C.G., and A.B.S. regulations
  • Completion of diesel engine overhaul school preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must apply for and obtain an (MMC) Merchant Marine Credential as Wiper (minimum) within 6 months
  • Able to use a computer, read/understand blueprints/technical manuals
